Spring Break 2004 inch rims they be runnin' on the side

So I only remembered to take pictures for the first four days of break or so. This page stands as a testament to the very awesome first half of my Spring Break. I began by leaving with the Whistling Shrimp to perform for a high school 2 hours away. As you can see, the entire hotel was jumpin' (I decided not to put up the shot of Aaron in his boxers which mysteriously showed up on my camera). Then it was off to the Bethesda bus and home. I got to see both Clueless and West Side Story on the ride home!!!! The break went downhill from there, but I made the most of my time: at Seth's house, playing poker, boojiboob (and eventually a little ridiculous sleep-deprived asshole, involving a few too many threats), open mics, tons of frisbee, including at 4 in the morning on the college park quad, chasing searchlights to checkers, checkers, prince cafe, hell house, good home cooking, and other stuff that I forget.

man am i glad i finally got to hang out with you folkers. though i did get home at 2 in the morning... and did have class the next day... it was worth it. julia + 6 guys + hookah bar + creepy/just really nice indian man = fun Thu 1-Apr-2004 00:10

The Whistling Shrimp vs. Boston (feat. Paula n' Jon): Feb 21,22

Four hours in, a rest stop feat. Pete with his shaggy mohawk
More rest stoppage with Pete, Evan, and Aaron
Post show with Jon and Paula! In fucking Boston MA!

An insane trip to an insane town. It began innocently enough with a 6 hour car trip, which dorked itself from Ithaca to Boston (ask me how). At Boston we commenced with the improvity-prov, after which I met up with Paula and Jon! Holy crap, what a good time. Then began the Harvard partying, which is just like you'd imagine Harvard parties to be. I wish I had pictures of the "Club House" we went to, complete with mooseheads and stuffed bears and huge fireplaces and big oak doors and really snooty guys with glasses of wine. Well, there's more stories from ther but I best be moving on. I also got the greatest fucking cab ride of my life from a weed-smoking self-hating anti-immigration Pakistani immigrant who loved the "green," was a self-described entreprenuing bachelor, and who cut 1/3 of the cab price off our bill because we were poor college students. He was probably better in my drunken memory, but you get the idea. Sleeping at BU was good, though Jon woke me up because he had to step over me to go puke in the bathroom, the fucker (come and knock on our door...). This is taking too long. In brief: brunch with Paula and Jon at an Indian buffet; shopping at cheap clothing stores with Jon and Paula; really awesome improv workshop; Shrimp dinner; more improv; crazy Harvard party involving a Cornell/Columbia dance-off (just see the pictures to know who won), a marriage between me and Paula by an ordained minister (I subsequently lost our ring), more dancing, and a series of drunken nicknames.

Holy crap this was a lot of fun. I can't even describe...ah well. You were there, you understand. May the League and the Dance Commanders have many more such meetings, and may they all be as successful. From Manhattan and Broadway, and Times Square, to Central Park, to SOHO and the Met, the Guggenheim, Chinatown, we done conquered it all.

those are some lovely photos, they make me miss everyone already. Tue 17-Feb-2004 04:03

Twat Twatback's Baadasssss Winter Break

A Goofy-Looking Fellow
I peed on your fucking restaurant, ahhhbitchesssss!
Post-urination, we try to find an alternative to salsa dancing.

Since everyone went digital camera-happy this break, I boycotted most photo opportunities and took my camera only when I was the only one taking pictures, so here is a smattering of the activities which occured this past month. For a more detailed account, see http://dan8ny.fotopages.com or http://paularaef.fotopages.com, or see Michal's pics on her page. They have a lot more events, but, you come to me for quality, not quantity, don't you?

haha well done ben. i almost cried when i read the edit in your smoke ring picture. just "HOLY FUCK!". well done. and yea, i'd forgotten about the bottle spinning as well. good thing we have pictures...oy vey.

i'm terribly upset i missed the salsa dancing excursion. does look like good times were had by all.

at any rate, gonna pop a few of those into my winwall rotation and reminisce 'til we're all together again.

Iron Chef: Cornell Battle! Dec. 10th, 2003

The Whistling Shrimp were asked to MC an Iron Chef battle. After shitting myself with excitement, I agreed to do it. I even gave up my Ryan Adams ticket to do so. We basically made cooking stuff up for an hour (it was ridiculous fun), just like Ota and Fukui and the gang. We got judges' interviews, we delved into mythology for a bit, you know, the usual MCing fare.

Aaah! Ben! Jenny, from your improv group, is my friend's roommate! I thought it'd be neat if you and my other friend met each other, and now you have a link Just to be sure... if Jenny's roommate is a girl named Julie from Ellicott City, then I got the right girl. Yay, how exciting! Sat 3-Jan-2004 09:03

This epic story, on par with Gilgamesh and the Iliad, tells of Ben, Kim, Tim, Jon, Seth, Paula, Sean, Alice, Michal, Jordan, Liz, Dan, Chris, Brett, Susan, Andrew, Katie, and Will, the Fellowship of the Twat, as we traverse the streets of Columbia for four outrageous days. The tale begins in Ithaca, moves through King's Contrivance, Seth's, Ben's, Alice's, Sean's, Michal's, and eventually into the forests of Savage and Tastee Diner, climaxing in a regrettably undocumented farewell at IHOP. As an English major, I know the limitations of words, so I'll just leave these pictures* in their place.

*(note: pictures total about 54,000 words)

I am so freaking mad I missed all this. But I am still part of the fellowship right? No more ditching me on winter break, Ben. Tue 2-Dec-2003 19:37

You totally go to bed too early Julia. I am sorry I missed you though, I'm a horrible person, and I'll make it up to you this winter. And yes, you are an integral member of the Fellowship. Wed 3-Dec-2003 01:00
