Fall Break: NES, amorality and other 1980s throwbacks

Holy crap it's Fall Break 04!

I drove around 1000 miles, I think, in 4 days. But that wasn't the interesting part. Here are the interesting parts.

An evening at Marky's

The evening started out unassumingly enough: cleaning bathroom.
Hannah and Brian walking! Holy shit!
I am a beautiful man. And Mark is a ninja!

Mark's Saturday night bash took a sour turn when a fight broke out on his doorstep, his glass door shattered and a cadre of ninjas invaded his house. At least I brought my "Trouble Funk." And thank God Brandt Adams showed up. And hey, Mark got play.

Balls of Baked Bread Batter at Bryn Mawr Begets Barfing

Joel and I drove down to Philly for one night to celebrate Kim's birthday a week early. Tim, Jon and Sean met us there. We saw a comedy show, some music, but more importantly, we had a donut-hole power half-hour. Inspired by one of the Shrimp alum, I described the elusive "donut-hole power hour" to Tim, who was pretty ecctatic. However, none of us was hungry. Thus we devised the power half-hour, a.k.a. the "pussed-out power hour." Lots of Sinatra-soundtracked fun regardless.

Oswegatchie is a weekend-long camping trip that Eco House sponsors each year. There's a large park on the Canadian border (3 hours from Ithaca), at at this park there's a good deal of campfiring, canoeing, swimming, sleeping outside, high ropes, hiking, volleyball, eating, dance partying and, in general, fun. Here are some pictures I took, and some of Christy's and Danielle's.

New Shrimp Group Shots

I rejected this first one because I'm bent awkwardly.
This one was lacking a certain...something.
Ah, perfection.
We needed some shots of the whole Whistling Shrimp tribe for the Big Red Comedy Festival (October 14, 15, 17 in NYC!), so I took some.

Top row (L to R): Noah, Brian, Pete, Jenni, Mark
Bottom row (L to R): Christina, Abbe, Me (bitches)

Noah, Brian and Abbe are our new Shrimp (or "babies," if you have a uterus).

Not pictured are Brandt and Jon, both on hiatus.

Hooray for new Shrimp, and, let's face it, hooray for forties with new-Shrimp names written on them by Christina. Hooray for Shrimp COD, and for Evan the lawyer and Aaron the architect, and hooray for Jon the entymologist (who came!), and for speaking fluent Spanish with a real live Mexican. ANd hooray, hooray, hooray for waaaangs.

Impromptu Eco House Mud Wrestling

A lot of fierce wrestlers fell on this field.
Denise stole the show with her goofy, mud-loving expressions.
This looks like a really weird sitcom ad.

On a rainy whim, several of us eco housers decided to partake in some mud fighting in the ol' construction zone out back. Janet documented the event with these photos, which I am stealing.

Wow...... So that's how those elite cornellians get to be so smart! Awesome! We should have a mud night in Columbia someday Sun 29-Aug-2004 04:15

Home from College Park--try to guess who was at the Frisbee party. We put lots of detergent in the Lakefront fountain, and also smoked cigars.
